Ingredients

1 cup natural peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

1 cup maple syrup or agave nectar

1/2 cup coconut oil, melted

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (optional)

1/4 cup chopped nuts or shredded coconut (for topping, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the baking dish: Line an 8x8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.

Mix wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the natural peanut butter, maple syrup (or agave), melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Use a spatula or whisk to mix until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.

Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift the unsweetened cocoa powder and sea salt to remove any clumps.

Combine wet and dry mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring continuously until well combined and a thick fudge batter forms. If you’re using chocolate chips, fold them in at this stage.

Transfer to baking dish: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly, smoothing the top.

Add toppings (optional): If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts or shredded coconut over the top of the fudge for added texture and flavor.

Chill: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours or until the fudge is firm and set.

Cut and serve: Once the fudge is firm, use the overhanging parchment paper to lift it out of the dish. Cut into squares or rectangles.

Store: Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
