Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand, preferably tangy)

1/4 cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix the Base Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce.

Add Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, milk, and eggs. Slowly incorporate this mixture into the turkey mixture until well combined.

Season: Add in the smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is evenly blended, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Shape the Loaf: Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, gently shaping it into a loaf form. Alternatively, you can create a free-form loaf on a lined baking sheet for a more rustic presentation.

Top with BBQ Sauce: Brush an additional layer of BBQ sauce over the top of the meatloaf for extra flavor and glaze.

Bake: Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Rest: Once done, take the meatloaf out of the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Garnish and Serve: Slice the meatloaf and garnish with fresh parsley, if desired. Serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or a fresh garden salad.
