Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 egg

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

4 pitas (whole wheat or regular)

1 cup shredded lettuce

1/2 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup cucumber, diced

1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (for serving)

Extra Sriracha for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the meatball mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, Sriracha, salt, black pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Shape the meatballs: With wet hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should have roughly 20 meatballs.

Cook the meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Prepare the pitas: While the meatballs are cooking, warm the pitas in a toaster or on a dry skillet until they are soft and pliable.

Assemble the pitas: Once the meatballs are ready, place a few meatballs in each pita pocket. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cucumber.

Add the finishing touches: Drizzle some plain Greek yogurt over the top and add extra Sriracha if desired for an extra kick.

Serve and enjoy: Serve the Spicy Sriracha Turkey Meatball Pitas immediately with your favorite side salad or chips!
