Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup whole milk

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional: Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with 6 cupcake liners.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined; do not overmix.

Fill Cupcake Liners: Divide the batter evenly among the lined cupcake cups, filling each about 2/3 full to allow room for rising.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorate (Optional): Once cool, you can frost them with your favorite frosting and sprinkle with fun decorations if desired.
