Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked spinach (squeezed dry)

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

1/2 cup diced onion

1/2 cup cooked bacon or sausage, crumbled (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Fresh herbs for garnish (such as chives or parsley)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: If using a homemade crust, roll it out and place it into a 9-inch pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. If using a store-bought crust, place it directly into the pie dish.

Sauté the Vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and bell peppers until they are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the spinach and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until fully combined. Add in the dried thyme, salt, and pepper to taste.

Combine Ingredients: Layer the sautéed vegetables and cooked bacon or sausage (if using) evenly into the pie crust. Then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Pour the egg mixture carefully over the layered ingredients until full.

Bake the Quiche: Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is lightly golden brown. A knife or toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: Allow the quiche to cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
