Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

2 cups cooked jasmine rice (for serving)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1-inch piece ginger, grated

⅓ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine sliced flank steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes while you prepare other ingredients.

Blanch the Broccoli: In a pot of boiling water, briefly blanch the broccoli florets for about 1-2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook without stirring for about 2 minutes, then stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until nearly cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Toss in minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine Everything: Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet, followed by the cooked beef. Stir in the oyster sauce and a splash of water to create a bit of sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.

Serve: Divide the cooked jasmine rice among serving plates. Spoon the beef and broccoli mixture over the rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

              Enjoy your meal!
