Ingredients

1 loaf of brioche or challah bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp butter, for frying

Fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) for topping

Maple syrup, for drizzling

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and granulated sugar until well combined.

Soak the Bread: Add the brioche or challah cubes to the egg mixture, gently stirring to ensure all the pieces are soaked evenly. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet or frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat until it bubbles but does not brown.

Cook the Bites: Using a slotted spoon, transfer a batch of soaked bread cubes to the skillet, shaking off excess liquid. Fry the bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat until all the bread is cooked, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

Serve: Once all bites are cooked, transfer them to a serving platter. Top with fresh mixed berries, drizzle with maple syrup, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy: Serve immediately while warm, optionally with extra syrup on the side for dipping!
