Ingredients

2 cups cooked macaroni pasta

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

1 large egg, beaten

Cooking spray or olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

Prepare the Mac & Cheese Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, sharp cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, softened cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, ensuring all macaroni is coated with the cheese mixture.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour. This step helps the mixture firm up, making it easier to shape into balls.

Shape the Balls: Once chilled, use your hands to roll the mixture into small balls, about 1-2 inches in diameter. You should have around 12-15 balls, depending on size.

Prepare for Breading: Set up a breading station with two bowls: one with the beaten egg and another with the breadcrumbs. Dip each mac & cheese ball into the egg to coat, then roll them in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Air Fry the Balls: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the breaded mac & cheese balls in a single layer (you may need to work in batches) and lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.

Cooking: Air fry the mac & cheese balls for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, carefully remove the mac & cheese balls from the air fryer and serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara or ranch dressing.
