Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, and salt until well combined.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for enhanced flavor.

Preheat the Oven: When ready to cook, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Prep the Drumsticks: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and discard the marinade. Pat the drumsticks dry with paper towels (this helps in achieving a crispy exterior).

Sear the Drumsticks: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the drumsticks and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown. This step adds a lovely crust to your drumsticks.

Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). During the last 10 minutes of cooking, brush the drumsticks with additional maple syrup for an extra sticky glaze.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color. Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
