Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) firm or extra-firm tofu

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu: Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Place the tofu block between two plates and set a heavy object (like a cast-iron skillet) on top for about 15-20 minutes. Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1-inch thick slices.

Make the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar until well combined.

Marinate the Tofu: Place the sliced tofu in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the tofu, ensuring each piece is coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for enhanced flavor.

Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill pan on the stove, heat it over medium heat and lightly grease with cooking spray.

Coat Tofu with Cornstarch: Remove the tofu from the marinade, allowing the excess to drip off. Lightly sprinkle cornstarch on both sides of each slice. This will help create a crispy exterior while grilling.

Grill the Tofu: Place the tofu slices on the hot grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown with nice grill marks. Be gentle when flipping the tofu to prevent it from breaking apart.

Finish with Garnishes: Once grilled, remove the tofu from the grill and transfer to a serving plate. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the top (or heat it in a saucepan until boiling and serve as a dipping sauce). Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and presentation.

Serve: Serve warm with steamed rice or quinoa and your favorite grilled vegetables for a complete meal. Enjoy the sweet and spicy flavor explosion from the Honey Sriracha Grilled Tofu!
