Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

1 loaf of garlic bread (store-bought or homemade)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, egg, dried oregano, dried basil, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Form meatballs: Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1-1.5 inches in diameter (you should have about 20-24 meatballs).

Sear the meatballs: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer them to a baking dish once done.

Layer with marinara sauce: Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the browned meatballs, ensuring they are fully coated.

Add cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs and marinara.

Prepare garlic bread: If using a store-bought garlic bread loaf, slice it in half horizontally. If making homemade, prepare your favorite garlic bread recipe.

Bake the dish: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Toast the garlic bread: While the meatball bake is in the oven, follow the package instructions for your garlic bread (or bake homemade at the same time). Once toasted, remove from the oven and set aside.

Serve: Once the bake is done, garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve the meatballs hot alongside slices of garlic bread for dipping.
