Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips for a sweeter option)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)

Sea salt (optional, for sprinkling)

1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, for added crunch)

1/4 cup granola (optional, for a fun texture and flavor)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into 1-inch thick rounds. Place them on a parchment-lined baking tray.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.

Coat the Banana Slices: Dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, using a fork to coat it evenly. Allow excess chocolate to drip off. For an added layer of flavor, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts or granola on top of the chocolate-coated banana.

Freeze: Place the chocolate-covered banana slices back on the parchment-lined tray. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top, if desired, for a sweet-and-salty flavor combo.

Chill: Place the tray in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours, or until the chocolate sets and the bananas are frozen solid.

Serve: Once frozen, remove the banana bites from the tray and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Enjoy them straight from the freezer for a delightful treat!
