8 small corn tortillas

1 can (15 oz) refried black beans

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

½ cup diced red onion

1 avocado, sliced

½ cup crumbled queso fresco (or feta cheese)

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 lime, cut into wedges

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil for frying

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will help keep your tostadas crispy after frying.

    Fry the Tortillas: In a large skillet, heat a thin layer of cooking spray or olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the corn tortillas one or two at a time. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they become golden and crispy. Remove them from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. If using the oven, you can also bake the tortillas on a baking sheet for about 8-10 minutes until crispy.
