8 corn tortillas

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

Zest of 1 lime

Juice of 1 lime

A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Tortillas: Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into eighths to create triangles. You should have around 64 chips.

      Mix the Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, lime zest, and cayenne pepper if desired. Mix well to distribute the spices evenly.

        Oil the Chips: Place the tortilla triangles in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the chips and toss to coat them evenly. They should be lightly glistening but not soaked in oil.

          Season the Chips: Sprinkle the spice mixture over the oiled tortilla triangles. Toss again to ensure that each chip is generously coated with the seasoning.

            Bake the Chips: Spread the seasoned tortilla triangles in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Make sure to check on them halfway through to rotate the trays for even cooking.

              Finish with Lime Juice: Once out of the oven, immediately squeeze fresh lime juice over the chips while they are still warm. This adds an extra zesty kick!
