Ingredients

2 cups stale bread crusts (preferably from baguettes or sourdough)

1/4 cup olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish, optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the bread crusts: If your bread crusts are not already cut, chop them into bite-sized pieces or strips, roughly 1-2 inches in length.

Make the garlic oil mixture: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a garlic oil.

Toss the bread with the oil: In a large mixing bowl, add the bread crusts and pour the garlic oil mixture over them. Toss thoroughly until all bread pieces are well coated with the oil and spices.

Arrange on the baking sheet: Spread the coated bread crusts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are not overlapping to achieve maximum crispiness.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chips are golden brown and crispy. Be sure to toss them halfway through baking for even browning.

Cool and garnish: Once out of the oven, let the chips cool for a few minutes. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley for extra flavor and presentation.

Serve: Enjoy these crispy garlic bread crust chips as a snack on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara, hummus, or a creamy garlic dip!
