Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup brewed coffee (cooled)

½ cup buttermilk

⅓ cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Caramel Sauce:

1 cup granulated sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

½ cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of sea salt

For the Coffee Frosting:

½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons brewed coffee (cooled)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional for color)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

    Prepare the Cake Batter:

      - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

        - In another bowl, combine the cooled brewed coffee, buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

          - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

              Make the Caramel Sauce:

                - In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, add the sugar. Stir continuously until it melts and turns a deep amber color.

                  - Once melted, carefully add the butter and stir until incorporated, then slowly add the heavy cream, stirring continuously until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. Let it cool slightly.

                    Prepare the Coffee Frosting:

                      - In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, brewed coffee, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and fluffy. Add cocoa powder if you prefer a darker hue.

                        Assemble the Cake:

                          - Place one layer of cake on a serving platter. Drizzle a few tablespoons of the caramel sauce over the top, then spread a layer of coffee frosting on top of the caramel.

                            - Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the process, drizzling caramel sauce, followed by coffee frosting.

                              - Finally, frost the sides of the cake with the remaining coffee frosting and drizzle with more caramel sauce. Garnish with a sprinkle of sea salt on top for an extra kick.

Serve: Slice and serve the Coffee Caramel Delight Cake to your friends and family. Enjoy the delightful combination of coffee, chocolate, and caramel!
