Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

2 tablespoons coconut oil (or vegetable shortening)

1/2 cup crushed nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or peanuts)

1/2 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened)

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)

Popsicle sticks or wooden skewers

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them in half crosswise. Insert a popsicle stick or wooden skewer into the cut end of each banana half for easy handling.

Freeze the Bananas: Place the banana pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they don't touch each other. Freeze for at least 2-3 hours, or until fully frozen.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

Dip the Bananas: Remove the frozen banana pops from the freezer. Dip each banana into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s completely coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.

Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle your choice of toppings (crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or a pinch of sea salt) onto the chocolate-coated bananas before the chocolate sets.

Final Freeze: Return the dipped banana pops to the baking sheet and freeze for an additional 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.

Serve: Enjoy immediately or store your chocolate-dipped banana pops in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a week.
