Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Sea salt, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and creamy.

Roll Out Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a rectangle. Make sure it is even and slightly thinner than the original thickness.

Cut the Pastry: Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide. You should have approximately 8-10 strips depending on the size of your pastry.

Fill the Twists: Place a heaping tablespoon of the cheese and bacon mixture at one end of each pastry strip. Fold it over, covering the filling, and then twist the pastry strip several times to create a spiral effect.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the twisted pastry pieces onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a couple of inches apart.

Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the twists with beaten egg to ensure they turn a beautiful golden brown during baking.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the twists are puffed up and golden brown.

Serve and Enjoy: Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, bacon-filled goodness!
