Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk, warmed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the Filling:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup cooked bacon, chopped

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

For the Bourbon Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 tablespoon maple syrup

2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the mixture, then slowly add in the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: While the dough is rising, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle approximately 16x12 inches.

Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top. Sprinkle the chopped bacon and pecans (if using) over the filling.

Roll and Cut: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover the dish and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the Rolls: Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, bourbon, maple syrup, and enough milk to achieve a drizzle-able consistency.

Glaze the Rolls: Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes. Drizzle the bourbon maple glaze over the warm rolls and serve.

Enjoy your sweet, sticky, and utterly delicious Bourbon Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls!
