Once your ground beef is cooked to perfection, it’s time to elevate the dish with the homemade peach glaze. Carefully pour the prepared peach glaze over the cooked beef in the skillet. The sweet and tangy notes of the peaches will infuse the beef with a delightful flavor. Stir the mixture gently to ensure that every morsel of beef is evenly coated with the luscious glaze. Let the mixture simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes over low heat. This step not only allows the flavors to meld beautifully but also enables the sauce to thicken slightly, resulting in a sticky and delicious coating that will enhance every bite.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for flavor)

1/2 cup finely diced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)

1/4 cup green onions, chopped

1 cup shredded carrots

1 head of butter or Romaine lettuce, leaves separated

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Peach Glaze: In a medium bowl, combine diced peaches, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and set aside to let the flavors meld.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil. Once heated, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the Glaze: Pour the peach glaze over the cooked beef in the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and coat the beef.

Prepare the Lettuce Wraps: While the beef is cooking, rinse and dry the lettuce leaves. You’ll want them intact for wrapping.

Assemble the Wraps: To each lettuce leaf, add a generous spoonful of the peach-glazed beef mixture. Top with shredded carrots and a sprinkle of chopped green onions.

Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra crunch and flavor. Serve immediately, allowing guests to wrap and enjoy!
