Ingredients

2 cups cooked macaroni pasta

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko preferred)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Non-stick cooking spray (or olive oil)

Instructions

Prepare the Mac and Cheese Base: In a large bowl, mix the cooked macaroni pasta, sharp cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and cream cheese. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all pasta is evenly coated with cheese.

Shape the Balls: Using your hands, take about 1-2 tablespoons of the mac and cheese mixture and form it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Place the formed balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Freeze for Firmness: Once all the mac and cheese balls are shaped, place the tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. This helps the balls hold their shape while air frying.

Prepare the Coating: In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.

Coat the Balls: Remove the mac and cheese balls from the freezer. Roll each ball in flour, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully covered.

Air Fry the Balls: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the basket with non-stick cooking spray. Place the coated mac and cheese balls in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overcrowded. Spray the tops lightly with olive oil.

Cook Until Golden: Cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.

Serve & Enjoy: Once done, remove the mac and cheese balls from the air fryer. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving. They are perfect with a side of marinara sauce or a ranch dipping sauce!
