Ingredients

1 lb (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 medium carrot, julienned

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece ginger, grated

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for stir-frying)

2 teaspoons sesame oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Optional: red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until it's browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add more oil if necessary. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring quickly for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the broccoli florets and carrots. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce over the stir-fry and toss everything together to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through and thicken the sauce.

Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, and green onions if desired for an extra kick!
